Join CGI and collaborate with approximately one hundred seasoned consulting and project delivery experts in our service centers across Quebec.
Together, we support a major client located in downtown Montreal.
Work model: Hybrid Location: Montréal
Your future duties and responsibilities:
As a Functional Architect, you will play a key role in the modeling and design of functional solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Modeling the functional structure of solutions using use-case models and other structural modeling techniques.
- Guiding analysts in the development of use cases and ensuring the quality of functional deliverables.
- Ensuring that functional documentation aligns with business requirements and the organization’s technological vision.
- Collaborating closely with solution architects to ensure coherent integration of solutions.
- Functionally decomposing solutions, identifying common functions, and contributing to the definition of services within an SOA/MSA (Service-Oriented Architecture / Microservices Architecture) approach.
- Contributing to the definition of functional architecture principles and standards within projects.
Required Qualifications
to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 10 years of experience in IT, including 6 years as a Functional Architect, using a structured use-case-driven approach and UML notation
- 5 years of experience in information systems development using Web technologies, .NET, object-oriented programming, and/or service design
- 3 years of experience preparing functional architecture documentation, including orientation requirements, architecture principles, and standards
- 2 years of experience in functional architecture for electronic service delivery (ESD) development projects
- 1 year of hands-on experience using Visio and Visual Paradigm in production environments
- Strong understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of the government or parapublic sector will be considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills in French (written, spoken)
Location
Montreal Work mode: Hybrid CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role.
The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications.
Compensation
decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is 80 000$ et 155 000$.

We are seeking individuals with expertise in IT architect-related functions, but licensure from an architect regulator is not a prerequisite for this position.
Architecture is a regulated profession in Canada which is restricted in terms of use of titles and designation.
