Job purpose
Carry out customs clearance activities for import and export shipments.
Prepare documentation, coordinate with forwarders and authorities, ensure regulatory compliance, and support timely shipment delivery.
Core responsibilities
- Review shipping requests and resolve purchase-order discrepancies.
- Verify duty exemption eligibility and initiate exemption requests for non-listed items.
- Process Freight Orders and maintain accurate, timely system updates.
- Plan shipments using packing, quantity, weight, volume, readiness, shipment type, and freight-rate information.
- Coordinate forwarders and shippers, monitor lead times, and address shipment deviations.
- Ensure shipping documents meet local regulations and are available before port arrival.
- Assist with insurance claims and provide claim documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, or a relevant field.
- 2–4 years of work experience.
- Knowledge of shipping management, supply chain best practices, and supply chain standards and procedures.
Operational expectations
Perform planned activities within delivery schedules, cost, and time objectives.
Solve operational problems, escalate complex issues, and provide periodic execution reports.
Support quality control, process improvement, automation opportunities, and policy compliance.
Follow applicable health, safety, environmental, legislative, and quality procedures.
