About the Role

  • The Flight Operations Inspector (FOI) carries out certification, surveillance, and oversight tasks as authorized by the Head of Flight Operations.
  • The FOI is appointed to act as the focal QCAA Inspector for one or more operators in Qatar.
  • Responsible for analyzing data from organizations to support performance based monitoring.
  • Conducts routine and non routine inspections and surveillance audits of approved organizations.
  • Ensures operators fully identify and establish root causes of all submitted Mandatory Occurrence Reports (MORs).
  • Evaluates effectiveness of corrective actions implemented in response to reported occurrences.
  • Identifies gaps between oversight obligations and workforce skills.
  • Recommends appropriate corrective actions to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence.
  • Carries out certification and authorization processes and associated regulatory functions.

Experience

  • At least 5 year experience in preparing and/or implementing rules, regulations, operating manuals, flight and ground procedures for flight safety, inspection and certification.
  • Should be below 60 years (age can be relaxed by President Decision for qualified candidates).
  • Accident free record for last 5 years attributable to his proficiency.
  • Fully trained Inspector with previous CAA experience as Inspector (ICAO Member).
  • Experience as an auditor will be an asset.
  • Hold or have held a pilot license with a minimum of 5000 hours and not less than 2000 hours as Pilot in Command on a performance Class A (CS25) Aircraft.
  • Experience as a Type Rating Instructor or Examiner or Synthetic Flight Examiner/Instructor is an advantage.
  • At least as qualified as the personnel to be inspected or supervised.
  • Civil or Military Aviation Management Degree is an advantage.
  • Fluency in writing and spoken English is required.
  • Well developed communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to work in a multi disciplinary and multi cultural environment.
