Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and respond to all airport emergencies at Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Doha International Airport (DIA).
  • Attend department related Health & Safety meetings.
  • Act as Operations Lead in the absence of the Operations Supervisor.
  • Ensure required Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Category (CAT) protection level is maintained.
  • Supervise and control staff leave to ensure minimum manpower availability.
  • Ensure availability and readiness of firefighting and breathing apparatus / rescue equipment.
  • Ensure all Fire Department staff assigned to vehicles are certified and qualified.
  • Ensure Airside Vehicle Operator Permits (AVOP) for all department personnel are valid.
  • Ensure all employees are medically fit to perform duties.
  • Inform Operations Manager of any deficiencies.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by competent authority.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and practices.
  • Provide guidance and advice to staff regarding Health & Safety legislation.
  • Conduct investigations into industrial accidents, injuries, and near miss incidents.
  • Ensure development, review, and auditing of comprehensive Health & Safety Policy.
  • Perform risk assessments for all firefighting tasks, manual handling, working at height, and equipment operation.
  • Perform COSHH assessments and other required evaluations.

Additional Duties

  • Perform watch duties during periods of severe manpower shortage.
  • Perform Senior Officer duties in accordance with approved shift roster.
  • Act as Incident Commander in the absence of the Senior Officer.
  • Coordinate with Training Department to ensure mandatory training attendance.
  • Deliver theoretical and practical tactical firefighting training.
  • Monitor and follow up on response time tests on a monthly basis.
  • Record all conducted training courses in the Red Kite system.
  • Perform any other duties requested by the Operations Manager.
