Basic Function
The role manages the financial reporting function and supports effective financial controls across the business.
The position supports internal and external audit readiness and dealings with bankers and auditors.
Internal Audit Readiness
- Ensure compliance with and implement existing and new finance policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with HR, supply chain, operations, and other finance-linked departments to obtain audit evidence.
- Identify control gaps and weaknesses, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure implementation.
- Perform regular multisite visits to verify compliance with policies and procedures.
- Liaise with the internal audit team and provide required information.
Financial Reporting
- File monthly VAT and WHT returns in compliance with applicable laws.
- Review records, archiving, and AP and AR vouchers and filing.
- Review key finance areas including Capex, AP, and AR.
- Maintain financial statement schedules and details for management packs and external audit readiness.
- Develop monthly reporting packages and balance sheet packs for management and shareholder review.
- Liaise with bankers, legal advisors, external auditors, and management.
- Support Zakat, VAT, transfer pricing, company law, and company secretarial compliance.
- Maintain proper books of account, support quarterly inventory counts, and handle the BMEH2 foreign entity bookkeeping and audit.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5–7 years of related experience.
- SOCPA registration and study toward a relevant accounting qualification.
- High level of accuracy with numbers and calculations.
