Role Overview
Finance Officer role supporting day-to-day finance and accounting activities for a client's Dubai entity.
This is a standalone accounting role requiring independent ownership of daily finance operations and coordination with the Group Finance team.
Employer Context
The client is a ship-owning company in the shipping industry with global operations.
The Dubai office is a regional subsidiary operating under the guidance and policies of the Group Finance team at headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for the Dubai entity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with Group requirements.
- Handle UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance and prepare and submit relevant returns.
- Coordinate with Group Finance and external advisors on tax matters where required.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate with the Group Finance team and comply with headquarters policies and procedures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as required by headquarters.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting.
- Assist with ERP and system usage and ensure data accuracy.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline is mandatory.
- At least one year of UAE experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Good knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
- Fluency in Chinese and English.
