To help keep our network operating safely and efficiently, we're looking for an Operations Field Supervisor to join our established team based in Oban, supporting activities across the Argyll and West region.
In this role, you'll support the Team Manager in overseeing our Argyll and West region Tree Cutting teams, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of vegetation management work around our overhead electricity network.
Promote and champion a strong safety culture through visible leadership and best practice.
Provide ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to team members.
Support the planning and preparation of complex tree cutting operations.
Build effective relationships with external customers and colleagues across the business.
Work proactively to resolve challenges and drive successful outcomes while contributing to a supportive and team-focused culture.
Previous experience working within a forestry or arboriculture role.
A solid understanding of the electricity distribution network.
Detailed knowledge of SSE policies and procedures relating to tree cutting operations around the network.

NPTC Utility Arboriculture certificates of competence (UA1 to UA2.3).
Relevant NPTC qualifications for the use of chainsaws and other relevant equipment.
Proven ability to work safely and effectively within a tree cutting or vegetation management environment.
