Role Description
The Farm Manager oversees daily farm operations, production activities, staff, equipment, and resources.
The role is responsible for efficient, safe, and productive farm operations while maintaining quality and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily farm operations and production activities and develop seasonal production plans and work schedules.
- Oversee crop and livestock activities, monitor health and performance, and manage irrigation, fertilization, pest control, feeding, and routine maintenance.
- Supervise farm workers, assign daily tasks, and oversee machinery, equipment, facilities, and tools.
- Manage supplies, materials, inventory, and storage, and coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Maintain production records, operational data, reports, budgets, forecasts, and management reporting.
- Monitor yields, costs, productivity, and farm performance, and implement solutions to improve productivity, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and agricultural standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in agriculture, agribusiness, horticulture, animal science, or a related field.
- Relevant farm management or agricultural operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of crop, livestock, or general farm operations and agricultural practices.
