The Engineering Director leads engineering strategy, technical operations, projects, and engineering teams.
The role ensures engineering solutions meet business, quality, safety, cost, and performance requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement engineering strategies, standards, and plans.
- Lead engineering projects from planning through completion.
- Manage engineering teams, resources, budgets, and technical priorities.
- Oversee design, development, testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Review engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and technical documents.
- Monitor project schedules, costs, quality, and technical performance.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulations.
- Identify and resolve technical, operational, and engineering issues.
- Manage risks, changes, technical approvals, and project requirements.
- Drive innovation, efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare technical reports, budgets, forecasts, and management updates.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is required.
- Extensive experience in engineering management and senior leadership is required.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design, project management, and technical operations is required.
- Experience managing engineering teams, projects, budgets, and resources is required.
- Knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and regulations is required.
- Professional engineering certification or chartered status is advantageous.
- UAE or GCC engineering experience is preferred.
