Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager role at Estudios Aplicados Antropología UC is a full-time, on-site position based in Ambalangoda.

The Facilities Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of buildings and grounds, ensuring that all spaces are safe, functional, and well-maintained.

include coordinating maintenance and repairs, supervising custodial and technical staff, and managing relationships with external vendors and service providers.

The role also involves monitoring facility budgets, tracking inventory and supplies, and planning preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend asset life.

The Facilities Manager supports health and safety compliance, assists with space planning and office moves, responds to facility-related issues, and communicates clearly with internal teams to minimize disruption to academic and research activities.

• Demonstrated experience in facilities management, building operations, or a related field, preferably in an academic or research environment.
• Proficiency in coordinating maintenance activities, supervising on-site staff, and managing vendor and contractor relationships.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple concurrent projects.
• Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a commitment to maintaining safe and compliant facilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and provide clear updates on facilities issues.
• Comfort with using basic office software and facilities management tools for tracking work orders, assets, and maintenance plans.
• Ability to work on-site in Ambalangoda, respond promptly to operational needs, and make sound, practical decisions under time constraints.
• Relevant technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline is preferred.
