Role Description
The Electrical Engineer designs, tests, commissions, and maintains electrical systems and equipment while ensuring safety, reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems, layouts, drawings, and specifications and perform calculations, load assessments, and equipment selection.
- Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, and MEP teams and conduct site inspections, testing, commissioning, and technical assessments.
- Troubleshoot systems and equipment involving power distribution, lighting, cabling, switchgear, transformers, and control systems.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and project teams.
- Review technical submissions, shop drawings, materials, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Monitor installation quality, project progress, materials, and schedules.
- Prepare technical reports, testing records, commissioning documentation, and engineering records.
- Support electrical maintenance, upgrades, modifications, improvements, and risk mitigation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant experience in electrical engineering, construction, MEP, manufacturing, or facilities.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, wiring, lighting, and controls.
- Experience with electrical installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit MEP, or similar engineering software.
- Knowledge of IEC, BS, UAE, or other applicable electrical standards.
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- High attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation.
- UAE/GCC engineering experience is advantageous.
