Role Description
The Facilities Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ambalangoda.
The role oversees building and grounds operations to keep spaces safe, functional, and well-maintained.
The position supports academic and research activities by minimizing disruption from facility issues.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs and supervise custodial and technical staff.
- Manage external vendors and service providers.
- Monitor facility budgets, inventory, and supplies.
- Plan preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
- Support health and safety compliance, space planning, and office moves.
- Respond to facility-related issues and communicate clearly with internal teams.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in facilities management, building operations, or a related field.
- Experience in an academic or research environment is preferred.
- Experience coordinating maintenance, supervising on-site staff, and managing vendors and contractors.
- Strong organizational and planning skills for budgets, schedules, and concurrent projects.
- Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
