Position Overview
The Extrusion Shift Supervisor manages shift resources and productivity while maintaining safety and quality compliance.
The role coordinates regularly with maintenance, die shop, quality, and scheduling teams.
The supervisor is responsible for employee development, staffing, performance, and shift-to-shift continuity.
Production and Shift Management
- Review daily production data and pursue continuous improvements in productivity and first-time quality.
- Monitor press production and provide Press Leads with the support and tools needed for successful shifts.
- Hold Press Leads accountable for daily metrics and performance, including accurate EPICS downtime entries.
- Review manpower needs, manage call-ins, request departmental support, and maintain staffing for the next shift.
- Review shift metrics covering manpower, downtime, die failures, yield, and maintenance issues.
- Ensure cleanliness, schedule adherence, material preparation, and communication of non-conformances during shift handover.
People, Safety, and Quality
- Develop shift employees in behaviour, communication, productivity, and career progression.
