Job summary
Lead the overall success of daily kitchen operations while personally performing culinary tasks.
Manage kitchen staff and food-related functions across banquets, room service, restaurants, bar or lounge areas, employee cafeteria, dish room, and purchasing.
Improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance.
Candidate profile
- Meet one of two pathways: a high school diploma or GED with 6 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major with 4 years of relevant experience.
Kitchen leadership
- Lead the kitchen management team and direct day-to-day operations.
- Set performance standards, monitor performance, and guide subordinates.
- Review staffing levels and coordinate cooks and food preparation workers.
- Build trust, respect, cooperation, and open communication among team members.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
