Job Summary
Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently on projects involving roads, buildings, maintenance, repair, and other infrastructure.
Equipment may include excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, rollers, backhoes, and other machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, rollers, and skid steers according to project requirements and safety standards.
- Inspect equipment and perform routine maintenance checks before and after operation.
- Read and interpret construction plans, grades, and site layouts.
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Follow supervisor directions to meet project specifications and deadlines.
- Comply with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific procedures.
- Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with general labor and other job-site tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed, hours operated, and fuel usage.
Employment and Work Location
- The position is full-time.
- Work is performed in person at construction job sites.
Requirements
- Ability to safely operate heavy construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, rollers, backhoes, and skid steers.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, grades, and site layouts.
- Ability to follow project specifications, supervisor directions, safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific procedures.
- Ability to inspect equipment, identify malfunctions or maintenance needs, and maintain accurate operating logs.
