Summary
The Equipment Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting equipment used in the manufacturing of solar cells. This role ensures equipment operates efficiently and reliably to support high-yield, high-quality solar cell production.
Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and validate new production equipment for solar cell manufacturing (e.g., diffusion furnaces, PECVD, screen printers, wet benches, etc.).
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues on production tools.
- Collaborate with process engineers to improve equipment performance, uptime, and process integration.
- Design and execute equipment upgrades to enhance productivity and reliability.
- Maintain detailed documentation including equipment logs, SOPs, and PM records.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for equipment-related production issues.
- Work with vendors and contractors for spare parts, equipment upgrades, and service agreements.
- Assist in training operators and maintenance technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
