Responsibilities
- Liaise with the client and Qatar Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to develop and implement an Environmental Management Plan.
- Apply the Environmental Management Plan across labour camps, transportation, resources, off-site storage, and related work areas.
- Ensure works comply with local legislation, applicable codes and standards, and ISO 14001:2015 principles.
- Communicate environmental management requirements to personnel and subcontractors.
- Cooperate with the client on environmental audits and establish compliance with environmental systems and processes.
- Implement recovery actions and mitigation measures when non-compliance is identified.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and regulatory requirements in Qatar.
- Comply with conditions of the contract's Environmental Clearance.
- Identify required environmental permits, consents, and approvals and record them in a Consents Schedule.
- Develop and implement the Environmental Emergency Response Plan.
- Carry out other tasks assigned.
Experience and Competencies
- Minimum 10 years of experience is required.
- Experience with Operations and Maintenance contracts is required.
- Knowledge of ISO standards is required.
- Knowledge of QCS and local regulations is advantageous.
- Microsoft Office, Outlook email, and SharePoint knowledge is required.
Education and Credentials
- A degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
- UPDA registration is required, or engineering degree holders must be able to obtain it this year.
- NVQ Level 6 HSE certification is required.
- Experience certificates are listed among the credentials to attach.
- English is listed as the job language.
Compensation
- The stated pay is from QAR 1.00 per month.
Workplace and Location
- The job location is Doha, Qatar.
- The position requires full-time relocation and in-person work.
