Responsibilities
- Manage the development and implementation of environmental management systems and projects to enhance pollution and air emissions prevention and resource conservation controls
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Department’s short to mid term strategic plan
- Manage Environmental Health, Social, and Impact Assessment Studies (EIAs) and related environmental studies
- Act as focal point for obtaining environmental permits from QatarEnergy MIC/RLIC and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC)
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to secure Consent to Operate approvals for applicable projects
- Manage GHG accounting and reporting programs
- Oversee flaring and air emission calculations
- Develop and implement emission reduction and pollution prevention plans
- Manage the LDAR program across all facilities
- Ensure environmental management system compliance across all projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science or similar discipline
- 5–7 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Proficient in English
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience in the Petrochemicals industry preferred
- Working knowledge of Arabic preferred

Job Purpose / Objective
- Manage the development and implementation of environmental management systems and projects required to enhance pollution and air emissions prevention, and resource conservation controls, in order to ensure the company complies with regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Department’s short to mid term strategic plan to ensure alignment with departmental priorities and corporate goals.
- Contribute to the development of annual business plans for assigned areas to support financial and strategic objectives.
- Monitor and control key performance indicators related to the Department to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage the activities of direct reports to ensure all work is carried out efficiently and in line with business plans, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the performance management process by setting objectives and developing staff through mentoring, coaching, and feedback.
- Identify employee training and development needs and work with the Human Capital Department to bridge competency gaps.
- Implement development plans to support Qatarization targets by preparing qualified Qatari Nationals for future roles.
- Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of departmental budgets.
- Monitor financial performance and identify areas of concern, recommending corrective actions where required.
- Manage Environmental Health, Social, and Impact Assessment Studies (EIAs) and related environmental studies.
- Act as focal point for obtaining environmental permits from QatarEnergy MIC/RLIC and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC).
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to secure Consent to Operate approvals for applicable projects.
Air Emission
- Liaise with QatarEnergy Sustainability and Surface Directorate for greenhouse gas (GHG) verification and certification.
- Manage GHG accounting and reporting programs.
- Oversee flaring and air emission calculations.
- Develop and implement emission reduction and pollution prevention plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements regarding emissions and flaring.
Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR)
- Manage the LDAR program across all facilities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental guidelines, regulations, and international standards (e.g., QE procedures, CPChem OE LDAR standards).
Qualifications & Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science or similar discipline.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Required: 5–7 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Preferred: Experience in the Petrochemicals industry.
- Required: English – proficient
- Preferred: Arabic – working knowledge
