About the Role
Our client seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering & Design function for shipbuilding, vessel conversion, and marine repair projects. The role requires 15+ years of marine engineering experience, strong leadership, and expertise in classification society approvals.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams covering hull, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, and outfitting disciplines
- Oversee end to end engineering delivery, ensuring technical quality, schedule adherence, and compliance with project requirements
- Act as the primary technical authority for design reviews, drawing approvals, and engineering submissions to clients and classification societies
- Manage plan approvals and regulatory compliance with DNV, ABS, BV, LR, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other international marine standards
- Collaborate with clients, surveyors, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver innovative and practical engineering solutions
- Support commercial activities through technical input for tenders, RFQs, cost estimates, variation orders, and project planning
- Drive engineering team development, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 15+ years of shipbuilding, marine engineering, or vessel conversion experience
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Expertise in classification society approvals (DNV, ABS, BV, LR)
- Knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, and other international marine standards
