POSITION: ENGINEERING MANAGER
The Engineering Manager provides leadership for the four Greenfire Resources SAGD facilities and leads
the multidisciplinary engineering function supporting safe, reliable and cost-effective operations. The role
is accountable for engineering governance and leads the asset integrity, facility engineering, technical
safety, MOC, and discipline engineering programs. In addition, this role closely supports the development
and capital projects teams. The Engineering Manager is responsible to collaborate with the Capital
Projects Manager, Development Manager, Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, HSE Manager,
and Production Manager to understand and support business priorities, budgets, and planning and
execution strategies for the company.
This position is based in the Calgary office. Occasional evening or weekend support may be required in
response to operational needs, project milestones, commissioning or start-up activities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- operating plans, production targets, project commitments and company goals.
- Build technical capability through effective resource planning, mentoring, performance
- management, succession planning and the appropriate use of consultants and specialized service

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent with pertinent experience.

- 15 or more years of progressive oil and gas engineering experience, including substantial
- experience supporting operating SAGD or thermal heavy-oil facilities and at least five years in a
- leadership role.
- Demonstrated owner-operator experience with facility optimization, asset integrity, project
- management, brownfield modifications, commissioning, start-up and operational troubleshooting.
- Strong multidisciplinary knowledge of process facilities, asset integrity, reliability, project
- execution and applicable engineering codes and standards.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and contractors, manage budgets and competing priorities,
- and deliver practical solutions in a fast-paced operating environment.
- Strong judgment, business acumen, analytical capability and written and verbal communication
- skills, with the ability to influence decisions at both field and executive levels.
