POSITION: CHIEF INSPECTOR
The Chief Inspector provides owner-side leadership and independent technical authority for Greenfire’s
pressure equipment and pipeline integrity management programs across its SAGD operations. The role is
accountable for regulatory compliance, inspection governance, integrity assessment, repairs and
alterations, failure investigations and technical assurance for boilers, pressure vessels, pressure piping,
tanks, pipelines and related assets. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE,
project teams, contractors and regulators, the Chief Inspector ensures integrity risks are understood,
inspection findings are appropriately addressed and assets remain safe, reliable and fit for service.
This position requires regular presence at Greenfire’s SAGD facilities in northern Alberta. Travel and
occasional evening or weekend support may be required for inspections, outages, incidents, regulatory
matters or project activities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting to the Engineering Manager
- The Chief Inspector has authority to escalate material concerns related to pressure equipment integrity,
- pipeline integrity, regulatory compliance or safety directly to the Vice President, Operations.
- Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Leadership and Integrity Governance
- Serve as Greenfire’s designated Chief Inspector and technical authority for the Owner-User
- Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System (PEIMS) and Pipeline Integrity Management
- Program.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve the PEIMS manual and Pipeline Integrity

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET:
- Degree or diploma in engineering, engineering technology or a related technical discipline from a
- recognized institution; eligibility for membership with APEGA or ASET, as applicable.
- Current Alberta In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency appropriate
- to the assigned inspection scope.
- Current API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector and API 570 Piping Inspector certifications.
- 15 or more years of progressive pressure equipment, pipeline integrity, mechanical integrity or
- inspection experience, including significant owner-user or pipeline licensee experience and at least
- five years in a senior inspection or integrity leadership role.
- Substantial experience supporting operating SAGD, thermal heavy-oil or comparable process
- facilities, including pressure equipment, pressure piping, pipelines, corrosion and damage
- mechanisms.
- Extensive knowledge of Alberta pressure equipment and pipeline regulatory requirements and
- applicable ASME, API and CSA codes and standards, including CSA B51 and CSA Z662.
- Demonstrated experience leading owner-user PEIMS and pipeline integrity management
- programs, including regulatory audits, integrity planning, risk-based inspection, corrosion control,
- repairs and alterations, fitness-for-service, quality assurance and root cause analysis.
- Strong independent judgment, safety leadership, planning and communication skills, with the
- ability to influence field personnel, technical specialists, contractors, regulators and senior leaders.
- API 571, API 580, API 653, AMPP/NACE corrosion training or a National Board Inservice
- Commission are considered assets.
