Overview
To lead large and highly complex avionics aircraft maintenance and repair activities on equipment such as wires, radar, radio, pulse, navigation in a timely manner and inspect the execution of repairs and maintenance tasks by technicians and senior technicians to ensure adherence to technical orders, standards and regulations, engineering drawings, and Job Guides.
1.
Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
2.
Adjust, repair or replace defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents, using hand tools.
3.
Examine and inspect calibration on installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications and ensure performance of task based on standard procedure.
4.
Test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analysers.
5.
Lead scheduled service and maintenance tasks to aircraft avionic system components and advise on problems with maintaining, servicing, and inspecting avionic aircraft system and related aerospace equipment.
6.
Lead unscheduled maintenance, repair and troubleshooting tasks assigned to aircraft systems, components, and related equipment and ensure the right implementation of procedures.
7.
Examine and test repaired components and systems according to standards and procedures and approve the process before signing off.
8.
Review and inspect maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports as required to ensure complete documentation and sign of for the supervisor’s approval.
9.
Report findings and issues to supervisor and collaborate with the supervisor to assess the problem and lead the implementation of the adopted solution and ensure proper execution in performing tasks.

Lead avionics equipment checks to ensure they are working appropriately on launch and recovery aircraft
11.
Lead installation and maintaining of visual landing aids as instructed and according to adopted procedures
12.
Maintain logs of airplane launches, recoveries, and equipment maintenance.
13.
Lead repair and maintenance tasks on issues encountered during typical recovery missions and inspect the components afterwards to ensure compliance to procedures and requirements before signing off.
14.
Develop deficiency reports, maintenance analysis documents, technical data changes and equipment records to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the maintenance progress and results.
15.
Record information on data collection forms and automated system under request of supervisor and when required ensure preparation of timely and accurate status reports.
16.
Provide on-the-job training and coaching to technicians and senior technicians on basic and complex tasks and procedures to support their development.
17.
Act as a technical expert of avionics technician’s team in addressing complex avionics maintenance issues by illustrating the right approach to address the issues to ensure quality maintenance and repair operations.
18.
Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
19.
Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
20.
Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
Minimum Qualification
Technical avionics diploma or skill level 7 certified avionics technician.
Experience
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience within avionics maintenance operations area at an Airbase
Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes
Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures
Understanding of operations structure, components and functions
