Job Description – Python Automation Engineer (HIL) – Medical Devices

We are looking for a skilled Python Automation Engineer with expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to join our Medical Device R&D team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing Python-based automation frameworks, HIL test environments, and system-level verification for embedded medical devices.

You will work closely with software, firmware, hardware, systems engineering, and quality teams to automate verification activities and ensure compliance with medical device standards.

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
• Develop automated test scripts for system, integration, regression, and functional testing of embedded medical devices.
• Configure and maintain HIL test benches, simulators, and hardware test setups.
• Integrate automation frameworks with hardware components, sensors, actuators, communication interfaces, and embedded controllers.
• Develop automation utilities for data acquisition, logging, analysis, and report generation.
• Perform software and hardware integration testing to validate product functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with Software, Firmware, Hardware, Systems, and Verification & Validation teams to define automation strategies.
• Analyse test results, investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and support defect resolution.
• Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines.
• Prepare test plans, test cases, automation documentation, and verification reports.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with medical device software development and quality processes.
