Position: DevOps Engineer – HIL Integration & Pipeline Automation
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the development and automation of CI/CD pipelines for medical device software and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing environments.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in Docker, DevOps, HIL integration, reporting automation, and CI/CD pipeline development.
The role involves building scalable automation solutions, integrating HIL test systems into continuous integration workflows, and ensuring reliable software delivery while meeting medical device quality and cybersecurity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for medical device software development and testing.
- Integrate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments into automated build and validation pipelines.
- Develop and maintain Docker-based development, testing, and deployment environments.
- Automate software build, deployment, test execution, and release processes using DevOps best practices.
- Implement automated test result collection, reporting dashboards, and quality metrics.
- Integrate HIL systems with Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Develop scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate infrastructure, testing, and reporting tasks.
- Configure and manage Linux-based build servers and deployment environments.
- Support infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Collaborate with Software, Firmware, Systems, Verification & Validation, and Quality Engineering teams to optimize development workflows.
- Monitor pipeline performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvements.
- Troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, HIL integration problems, and infrastructure-related incidents.
- Maintain software configuration management, version control, and release documentation.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, quality, and regulatory requirements for medical device software.

Medical Device Experience
- Experience working with regulated medical device software development.
- Understanding of Software Verification & Validation (V&V) processes.
- Experience integrating automated testing into medical device development workflows.
- Knowledge of software quality management and release processes.
- Experience supporting HIL or system integration testing in safety-critical environments.
Regulatory Knowledge
Working knowledge of:
- IEC 62304 – Medical Device Software Lifecycle
- ISO 13485 – Quality Management Systems
- ISO 14971 – Risk Management
• FDA 21 CFR Part 820
- IEC 81001-5-1 – Health Software Cybersecurity
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–9 years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, and automation engineering.
- Experience with Docker-based deployments and HIL integration.
- Strong knowledge of Linux administration and scripting.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Kubernetes and Helm.
- ROS/ROS2 integration.
- Embedded Linux environments.
- SonarQube, Black Duck, or Snyk integration.
- Hardware communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with medical device cybersecurity and secure CI/CD pipelines.
