Energy Efficiency Manager

Role Overview

Work Arrangement

• The role is fully remote in the United Arab Emirates.

Strategy and Performance

• Develop energy-efficiency strategies, policies, standards, frameworks, roadmaps, action plans, targets, baselines, performance indicators, and continuous-improvement programs.
• Assess energy consumption, demand patterns, energy intensity, operational requirements, and energy-saving opportunities across facilities, buildings, infrastructure, equipment, and processes.
• Conduct or coordinate energy audits, energy assessments, technical studies, benchmarking, energy-performance reviews, and measurement and verification.
• Analyze energy data, establish metering and monitoring frameworks, develop dashboards and reports, and identify underperforming assets and corrective actions.

Projects and Delivery

• Identify and prioritize conservation measures involving HVAC, lighting, motors, pumps, compressors, chillers, boilers, controls, refrigeration, compressed air, hot water, cooling systems, and process equipment.
• Manage energy-efficiency projects from opportunity identification and feasibility through design, procurement, implementation, commissioning, verification, and closeout.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects with Engineering, Facilities, Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Finance, Sustainability, Construction, IT, and other teams.
• Manage consultants, energy-service companies, engineering firms, contractors, technology providers, suppliers, utilities, and other external partners.

Commercial and Integrated Energy Planning

• Develop technical scopes, specifications, tender documents, performance requirements, evaluation criteria, budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.
• Evaluate energy-efficient equipment and technologies using energy performance, lifecycle cost, reliability, maintainability, payback, NPV, IRR, and return-on-investment measures.
• Assess opportunities for performance-based contracting, energy-service agreements, shared savings, renewable energy, energy storage, electrification, smart-energy systems, and demand management.

Candidate Qualifications

• Experience in energy efficiency, energy management, energy engineering, building performance, industrial energy management, sustainability, facilities management, energy consulting, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing and implementing energy-efficiency strategies, programs, audits, or projects.
• Strong technical understanding of major energy-consuming systems and of energy baselines, performance indicators, monitoring, and measurement and verification.
• Experience developing energy-saving business cases and managing projects through feasibility, design, procurement, implementation, commissioning, and verification.
• Experience with energy-management systems, building-management systems, smart metering, submetering, sensors, energy analytics, or related digital platforms.
• Strong understanding of utility tariffs, energy billing, demand charges, energy procurement, and energy-cost optimization.
• Experience with commercial buildings, industrial facilities, infrastructure, utilities, energy-service companies, engineering firms, construction, real estate, manufacturing, or large energy consumers is highly advantageous.
