About the Role
We are looking for an Electrician Technician to attend to electrical equipment breakdowns and perform planned/preventive/predictive maintenance in Durban, South Africa. You will diagnose electrical failures, use SAP for spare parts ordering, and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities
- Attend to all electrical equipment breakdowns such as LV MV motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant lightings, Transformers, UPS, VFD, Breakers, Soft starters
- Carry out planned/preventive/predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision
- Identify and report abnormalities; repair and/or replace required items and re assemble and test equipment
- Technically assess the requirement of allocated jobs and select necessary tools and equipment
- Effectively diagnose electrical breakdowns/failures and troubleshoot electrical failures of plant and equipment
- Use SAP to order spare parts from warehouse and maintain records of all maintenance work completed
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements
- Monitor repeated breakdowns and recommend proper modifications to resolve problems
- Provide plant & equipment knowledge to newly joined electricians/craft trainees and contractors
- Participate in 5S, Business Excellence and Safety Initiatives
- Assist other departments in repair and troubleshooting of equipment
Requirements
- Experience with electrical equipment such as LV MV motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant lightings, Transformers, UPS, VFD, Breakers, Soft starters
- Ability to diagnose electrical breakdowns and troubleshoot failures
- Experience with computerized maintenance systems (SAP preferred)
- Knowledge of safety procedures and plant operational requirements

Duties
- Attends to all electrical equipment breakdowns such as LV MV motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant lightings, Transformers, UPS, VFD, Breakers, Soft starter, etc.
- Carries out planned/preventive/predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision.
- Identifies and reports any abnormalities. Repairs and/or replaces required items and re assembles and tests the equipment.
- Technically assesses the requirement of allocated jobs and selects the necessary tools and equipment.
- Effectively diagnoses electrical breakdowns/failures and troubleshoots electrical failures of plant and equipment.
- Using SAP, orders spare parts from warehouse and maintains records of all maintenance work completed.
- Ensures that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements.
- Monitors any repeated breakdown and recommends proper modification to resolve the problem.
- Provides plant & equipment knowledge to newly joined electricians/craft trainees and contractors.
- Continuously works towards improving EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in 5S, Business Excellence and Safety Initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as communicated by Supervisor/Superior.
- Assists other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment.
