Position and Overview

CSI Global and Advanced Technical Services provide engineering, MEP, electrical testing, commissioning, and technical services for infrastructure, commercial, industrial, and building projects.

The Electrical Technician supports installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, inspection, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.

The role works with Electrical Engineers, Testing and Commissioning Engineers, Commissioning Managers, and project teams to ensure safe and correct system operation.

The position is full-time and based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist engineers and commissioning teams during testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Carry out continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth resistance, and other applicable electrical tests.
  • Support testing and commissioning of LV systems, distribution boards, panels, MCCs, transformers, cables, lighting, power systems, and related equipment.
  • Read electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
  • Perform cable termination, glanding, dressing, labeling, and connection activities.
  • Inspect installations and identify defects, incomplete works, or non-conformities.
  • Troubleshoot faults, identify root causes, and verify installations against approved drawings and requirements.
  • Record test results, inspection findings, readings, and equipment status.
  • Prepare testing and commissioning documentation, checklists, inspection reports, and test records.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, technicians, and other disciplines to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate tools and instruments, follow project procedures, comply with HSE requirements, and keep work areas safe and organized.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma, technical certificate, or vocational qualification in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related discipline.
  • Two to five years of relevant experience as an Electrical Technician.
  • Experience in MEP, electrical contracting, testing and commissioning, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or building projects.
  • Good knowledge of electrical installation and testing practices.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing instruments and tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary project team, communicate effectively, solve problems, work at project sites, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with electrical testing and commissioning, LV/MV systems, panels, MCCs, distribution boards, transformers, switchgear, cable testing, and termination.
  • Experience with earthing, lightning protection, electrical power, lighting, MEP commissioning, or large infrastructure, commercial, industrial, airport, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
  • Experience working with testing and commissioning teams or commissioning authorities.

Advantageous Certifications

  • Relevant electrical technical certifications or manufacturer-specific electrical equipment training.
  • HSE or safety certifications and experience with recognized electrical testing standards and procedures.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers registration where applicable.

Work Practices

  • Follow approved Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans, Risk Assessments, project procedures, and company, client, and project HSE requirements.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the work area is safe and organized.
