Electrical Engineer Sr

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and review electrical drawings, calculations, cable schedules, substation layouts, lighting systems, and earthing and lightning protection designs.
• Prepare, review, and approve method statements, specifications, termination drawings, bills of materials, and junction schedules.
• Select, size, and specify MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, motors, cables, lighting fixtures, earthing, and lightning protection equipment.
• Perform and review electrical load calculations, short-circuit studies, and coordination studies.
• Coordinate electrical integration with civil, structural, mechanical, instrumentation, and other disciplines.
• Lead shop drawing and as-built drawing preparation, review, and approval.
• Resolve scope variations, technical risks, and design constraints with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Provide site leadership during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Review MTOs and BOQs, monitor materials and resources, and support project schedule adherence.
• Lead document control, QA/QC inspections and audits, client approvals, and third-party coordination.
• Ensure HSE compliance and promote safe working practices across electrical activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development within the electrical engineering team.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree or BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in civil or building construction, preferably on high-rise building projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of MV/LV electrical systems and associated equipment.
• Proven experience in electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning for large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, substation layouts, cable routing, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Familiarity with applicable international electrical codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination and manage interfaces effectively.
• Strong experience in QA/QC processes, technical reviews, and client approvals.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

Project Environment

• The role includes site leadership during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities for building projects.
• The position supports high-rise building construction projects and requires coordination with project stakeholders on site.
