About the Role
Al Marwan Group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer (Buildings) to design electrical and ELV systems for building projects in Sharjah. The role involves preparing detailed layouts, calculations, and ensuring compliance with local utility regulations.

Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed layouts, containment routing, schematic diagrams, and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for internal/external lighting, small power, low voltage (LV) distribution, lightning protection, and earthing systems
- Conduct accurate electrical load estimations, maximum demand calculations, cable sizing, short circuit analyses, and voltage drop calculations
- Create point by point indoor, outdoor, and emergency lighting simulations using DIALux/DIALux evo to verify lux level compliance, uniformity, and energy efficiency targets
- Assist in or directly handle the basic design and integration of Extra Low Voltage systems, including fire alarm, CCTV, access control, ICT structured cabling, and Central Emergency Battery systems
- Actively participate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination reviews to detect, track, and resolve spatial clashes with HVAC, plumbing, structural, and architectural elements
- Prepare technical submission packages, load schedules, and drawings for compliance reviews and approval by municipal bodies and local utilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 2 to 5 years of proven design office experience specifically within building services consultancy, architectural firms, or the technical design department of a main contractor
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (MEP) for 3D modeling and extraction, alongside advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
- High proficiency in DIALux/DIALux evo, and familiarity with electrical analysis tools (such as ETAP, Amtech/Trimble, or advanced MS Excel calculation models)
- Solid foundational knowledge of regional utility regulations (e.g., SEWA/DEWA/ADDC regulations) and international standards like BS 7671 or IEC
- Eligibility for or active membership in the local Society of Engineers (or equivalent municipal engineering registration) is highly advantageous
- Strong analytical problem solving skills, proactive approach to multi disciplinary coordination, and clear technical communication skills

Job Summary
- The Electrical Design Engineer (Buildings) is responsible for the technical design, engineering calculations, and documentation of comprehensive electrical and extra low voltage (ELV) systems for a variety of building projects (residential, commercial, and mixed use).
- Operating under the guidance of a Senior Engineer or Design Office Manager, the candidate will take ownership of medium scale design packages from concept through to tender ready documentation.
- A key focus of this role is ensuring strict compliance with local utility regulations (e.g., SEWA, DEWA, ADDC) and local Civil Defense fire and life safety codes, while achieving seamless, clash free coordination within a multi disciplinary engineering and architectural design team.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven design office experience specifically within building services consultancy, architectural firms, or the technical design department of a main contractor.
- BIM & CAD Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (MEP) for 3D modeling and extraction, alongside advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Technical Software: High proficiency in DIALux/DIALux evo, and familiarity with electrical analysis tools (such as ETAP, Amtech/Trimble, or advanced MS Excel calculation models).
- Codes & Standards: Solid foundational knowledge of regional utility regulations (e.g., SEWA/DEWA/ADDC regulations) and international standards like BS 7671 or IEC.
- Professional Credentials: Eligibility for or active membership in the local Society of Engineers (or equivalent municipal engineering registration) is highly advantageous.
