Core responsibilities
- Develop drilling strategies and lead activities for exploration, appraisal, development, injection, production, and workover wells.
- Establish design criteria, technical standards, operating envelopes, engineering requirements, and drilling programs.
- Coordinate trajectories, casing, cementing, drilling fluids, hydraulics, bit selection, BHA design, and operational procedures.
- Evaluate offset data, geological hazards, pore pressure, fracture gradients, wellbore stability, and drilling risks.
- Lead directional, horizontal, extended-reach, complex, and specialized well design activities as required.
- Conduct technical reviews, peer reviews, design verification, readiness assessments, and contingency planning.
