The role leads discipline-specific drafting activities by planning and allocating work, reviewing technical deliverables, and coordinating with engineering and project teams.
The position is responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant engineering drawing production throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate discipline-specific drafting activities across assigned projects.
- Review scope, specifications, and engineering requirements and create drafting work packages.
- Allocate work based on workload, competence, priorities, and project requirements.
- Perform final checks for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance before issue.
- Coordinate technical queries, drawing discrepancies, and design changes with discipline engineers.
- Prepare and review General Arrangement Drawings, detailed drawings, material take-offs, and 3D models.
- Coordinate interfaces and design changes with other disciplines.
- Support project and construction teams with drawing-related queries and documentation updates.
- Monitor progress and address resource or schedule constraints.
- Guide drafting personnel and ensure compliance with standards, quality procedures, document control, and HSE requirements.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma or certificate in engineering drafting, design, CAD, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Relevant CAD, 3D modeling, or discipline-specific design certification is preferred.
- At least 10 years of relevant drafting or design experience in engineering, construction, marine, offshore, or similar industries.
- Proven experience leading or coordinating drafting teams and checking engineering deliverables.
- Supervisory or team-lead experience.
