Position Summary
The District Manager, also described as an Outside Sales Representative, manages existing accounts and develops new business opportunities.
The territory covers Greater Toronto North, including Etobicoke to Scarborough and Highway 401 south to Lake Ontario.
The role reports to the Sales Manager.
Compensation
- The stated salary range is $54,200 to $67,800.
- Base salary is determined during the interview process based on experience, skills, internal comparisons, and role scope.
Core Responsibilities
- Promote and increase territory sales through national and regional marketing strategies.
- Increase distribution of core and agency brands in liquor board retail stores, private stores, and selected licensees.
- Develop sales objectives and oversee activities at retail outlets.
- Manage new product launches.
- Execute merchandising and promotional programs.
- Track account calls and prepare administrative reports.
- Manage shelving and display programs.
- Manage advertising and promotion budgets within fiscal allocations.
- Contribute cooperatively to team objectives and dynamics.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 2 years of related outside sales experience is required.
- Three or more years of related wine and spirits experience is an asset.
- Candidates should be self-motivated and self-directed.
- Strong time management, organization, attention to detail, and accuracy are required.
- Travel is required, and candidates must have a valid driver’s licence.
- A company vehicle is provided.
- A university degree or relevant work experience is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
Commercial Competencies
- Develop knowledge of the business environment, competitors, customers, distribution channels, and category trends.
- Maintain knowledge of portfolio brands and their competitive positioning.
- Develop and implement commercial plans aligned with local market conditions.
- Evaluate sales-force, promotion, and account-investment activities.
- Manage customer negotiations and stakeholder relationships.
- Assess contracts, prices, trade terms, consumer insights, and profitability within budget guidelines.
Work Arrangement
