We’re on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Disability Day Service Practitioner to join the genU community team
This is a hands-on support role where you’ll help deliver engaging day-service programs, empower participants to build their skills, and ensure every person we support has the opportunity to live a happier, healthier, more connected life.
You’ll work closely with clients and fellow team members to facilitate activities, provide personal support, and promote community inclusion, all while helping participants reach their goals and build confidence in themselves.
As our Disability Day Service Practitioner , you will:
Support clients in a range of meaningful activities, including arts & crafts, community access, games, movies, adventure-based learning, and more.
Assist with daily living tasks such as personal care, hygiene, and meal support.
Promote community inclusion by identifying opportunities based on client interests.
Encourage participation in community activities with support ratios between 1:1 and 1:4.
Help build physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and overall wellbeing.

Maintain program documentation, file notes, and other required records.
Certificate III in Disability or equivalent (or willingness to complete).
Experience working in day-service programs and with behaviours of concern.
An understanding of active support and working with people with varying disabilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with empathy, sensitivity, and respect.
Ability to support clients to achieve goals and personal development.
Strong organisation skills and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
Current First Aid & CPR certification.
Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
NDIS Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Experience facilitating group activities.
Experience supporting clients in community-based programs.
Creative interests such as art, cooking, or recreational activities.
Experience working in a day centre environment with diverse support needs.
