Position Overview
The Director of Operations is appointed by, and reports to, the Accountable Executive, and is responsible for:
Key Responsibilities
- Exercise operational control and accountability for the conduct of flight operations under the AOC.
- Own the operations manual, ensure ops-specifications compliance and set operational standards.
- Oversee flight dispatch, flight-time limitations and flight-crew standards.
- Serve as the operational interface with GACA for approvals, audits and findings.
- Embed the SMS within operations.
- Work closely with internal teams and external professional partners to ensure members receive seamless, end-to-end business support throughout their expansion journey.
Requirements
- Hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- At least 3 years' supervisory/managerial experience within the last 6 years exercising operational control over Part 121-similar operations.
- At least 3 years' experience within the past 6 years as PIC of a Part 121 aircraft — for a first-time Director of Operations.
- Full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual; must be acceptable to GACA.
- Airbus A320/A321 experience.
- Existing GACA regulatory relationships and new-AOC experience.
- Fluent English; Arabic advantageous.
