The Director of Food & Beverage at The Meydan Hotel is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the hotel’s food and beverage operations, specifically across all F&B outlets in the property.
The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving revenue growth, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining high standards of food quality, service, and hygiene.
The Director of Food & Beverage will lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team to achieve the hotel’s strategic goals and uphold its reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement food & beverage strategies in line with the hotel’s vision and market positioning. Set departmental goals, monitor performance, and adjust plans as needed.
- Oversee daily operations of all F&B outlets. Ensure seamless service delivery and compliance with brand standards.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecast revenues, control costs, and maximize profitability across all outlets. Analyze financial reports and identify opportunities for revenue enhancement.
- Collaborate with culinary teams to design innovative menus, maintain high food and beverage quality, and ensure consistency across all outlets.
- Uphold and enhance guest satisfaction by monitoring feedback, resolving complaints, and implementing service improvements.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and retain talented staff. Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous professional development.
- Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, health, and safety standards in accordance with local regulations and hotel policies.
- Manage inventory and ensure cost-effective procurement of food and beverage items.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, special events, and seasonal offerings to attract new guests and retain existing clientele.
- Liaise with senior management, department heads, and external partners to align F&B objectives with overall hotel goals
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Hotel Administration, or related field. Advanced certifications in F&B or business management are advantageous.
- 4 to 5 years in a senior leadership role within a five star or luxury hotel.
- Proven track record in leading large, multicultural teams and driving high performance in a dynamic hospitality setting.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis specific to F&B operations.
- Exceptional commitment to guest service excellence and ability to anticipate and exceed guest needs.
- In-depth knowledge of restaurant, lounge, and bar operations, including menu engineering, service standards, and quality assurance.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills with fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to resolve complex operational challenges promptly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and respond effectively to changing guest and business needs.
- Familiarity with UAE food safety, alcohol licensing, and health and safety regulations.
