Role Overview
The Desktop Operations Associate designs, deploys, maintains, and supports desktop infrastructure and corporate applications.
The role supports enterprise-level infrastructure in a fast-paced environment involving real-time market data and trading.
Major Responsibilities
- Create Microsoft and third-party patching deployments using Microsoft SCCM and Intune.
- Automate desktop environment solutions and changes using PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Package applications for automated deployment in Microsoft SCCM, Intune, and VMware App Volumes.
- Administer Active Directory Group Policy, including creating, editing, and evaluating desktop-related GPOs.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, including application-level support.
- Maintain VMware View virtual desktop brokers and monitor physical and virtual desktop availability and performance.
- Escalate application packaging and operating system issues for End User Support and Service Desk teams.
- Support enterprise-level infrastructure as part of a team and provide off-hours support when needed.
- Document processes and procedures appropriately.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in technical, engineering, or computer science studies, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience supporting systems in a mission-critical environment.
- Ability to solve problems using standard and non-standard methods.
- Organized and methodical testing skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting real-time market data and trading.
- Ability to support Windows operating system administration and desktop automation.
Technical Skills
- Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise, Microsoft SCCM, and Microsoft Intune.
- VMware Workspace ONE, VMware App Volumes, and VMware vCenter/Horizon.
- Application packaging and virtualization.
- PowerShell, Python, or other desktop scripting languages.
