Role overview
AltEdge is building an in-house Design and Drafting Engineering team in Bangalore.
The role focuses on casting and forging component design, drafting, manufacturing readiness, and support for OEM engineering programs.
Design and drafting
- Design and detail 3D models, general arrangement drawings, and manufacturing drawings for casting and forging components.
- Work on sand casting, investment casting, die casting, open-die forging, and closed-die forging components.
- Translate OEM and customer design intent into supplier-ready manufacturing drawings.
Manufacturing engineering
- Apply DFM and DFC principles covering draft angles, parting lines, fillets, wall thickness, machining allowances, and shrinkage.
- Develop casting and forging process drawings, including gating, riser, and parting-line layouts.
- Perform GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis for critical features.
Collaboration and program support
- Collaborate with sourcing, supplier quality, program management, tooling, machining, and finishing teams.
- Support customer engineering discussions, design queries, ECR/ECN, drawing approvals, and supplier tooling reviews.
