- Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial accounts to achieve profitable renewals and new business targets
- Review allocated cases and make underwriting decisions within delegated authority and risk appetite
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and intermediaries
- Develop and execute account plans to maximise revenue opportunities and strengthen client engagement
- Identify and support business development and marketing initiatives to increase market share and portfolio profitability
- Provide expert guidance on policy wordings, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with market standards
- Handle technical referrals for new and renewal business, collaborating with internal underwriting and risk teams
- Participate in audits, peer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support complaints resolution within authority limits
- Maintain accurate and up to date policy records and documentation across all systems
- Contribute to underwriting strategy execution for commercial lines
- Share expertise with junior colleagues through coaching and technical support
Requirements
- 4 5 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in general insurance (Property & Liability)
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting practices, and risk assessment
- Proven experience managing broker/intermediary relationships (minimum 5 years network exposure preferred)
- Strong analytical and decision making skills with sound commercial judgement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Relevant insurance certifications or regulatory licensing as required

Role Overview

- In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth through renewals and new business opportunities, in alignment with the company’s risk appetite and commercial strategy.
- You will combine strong analytical underwriting expertise with excellent relationship management skills to deliver high quality service and sustainable portfolio performance.

What You Bring
