Overview

About the Company

We are one of the world's earliest and most established digital asset platforms, serving tens of millions of users across global markets.

Consistently ranked among the top exchanges worldwide, we support a comprehensive suite of trading and wealth management products across thousands of digital assets.

With thousands of employees spanning key financial hubs globally, we operate with a remote-first, high-autonomy culture that attracts talent who thrive in fast-moving, intellectually demanding environments.

We are building the financial infrastructure of the next era of the internet — and we're looking for exceptional compliance professionals ready to step into a defining role.

Overview

We are looking for a hands-on, execution-driven Deputy MLRO / Deputy CCO to support and grow our compliance function in Dubai.

This is a role built for someone on the rise — a compliance professional who has spent years doing the real work: building frameworks, running AML programs, engaging regulators, and getting things done.

You don't need to have the MLRO or CCO title yet.

What matters is that you've operated at that level in practice, and you're ready to own it formally.

We're deliberately targeting candidates at the Assistant Manager, or Manager level who have been deeply embedded in compliance operations and are looking for the opportunity — and the title — to match their experience.

If you've felt capped in your current organisation, this role is your next move.

Candidates must be currently based in the UAE.

We are not able to support relocation for this position.

What You'Ll Do

  • Support the MLRO in overseeing AML/CTF matters, ensuring full compliance with Dubai's applicable laws and regulations
  • Serve as a key point of contact with regulators and relevant government bodies, as delegated by the MLRO/CCO
  • Provide practical, business-oriented compliance advice directly to business units and product teams
  • Draft, implement, and continuously improve AML/CTF policies and procedures
  • Design and operationalise AML/CTF controls across: client onboarding (KYC/KYB), transaction monitoring, trade & market surveillance, and Travel Rule compliance
  • Lead or support compliance monitoring programs and account opening controls
  • Contribute to regular MLRO reports and senior management updates
  • Collaborate with global Legal & Compliance teams on cross-border and ad-hoc projects

Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management within financial institutions or the digital asset industry
  • Solid hands-on involvement in AML/CTF programs — you don't need to have held the MLRO or CCO title, but you should have been doing that work in practice
  • At least 1+ year of exposure to the digital asset / crypto industry (internals or adjacent)
  • Prior experience contributing to or owning parts of a compliance framework, not just following one

Core Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of AML / KYC / CTF frameworks and how they apply operationally
  • Proven ability to draft policies, design controls, and implement compliance programs from the ground up
  • Comfort engaging with regulators and responding to regulatory queries
  • Familiarity with the UAE regulatory landscape; VARA exposure is a meaningful plus but not a prerequisite
  • A working understanding of crypto products, trading flows, and the risk landscape that comes with them

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring and/or market surveillance tools
  • Familiarity with compliance platforms such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or SumSub
  • Nice to Have
  • Exposure to a VARA-regulated entity or involvement in a licensing or regulatory approval process in the UAE
  • Experience working alongside product or engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into system-level controls

Why This Role

This isn't a support role hidden behind a senior title-holder.

You'll have real ownership, direct regulatory exposure, and a clear path to stepping into a named MLRO or CCO function as the business scales.

For the right candidate, this is the opportunity to build something — and to grow your title alongside it.
