About the Role
You will oversee all PM shift yard activities, ensuring freight is loaded, unloaded and dispatched accurately while maintaining high safety and performance standards. You will lead from the front, supporting your team and driving a strong operational culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day PM shift yard operations to ensure safe and efficient freight movement
- Lead, coach and support yard staff, fostering a positive and high-performing team environment
- Ensure trailers are loaded safely and are compliant to legislation and customer requirements, including accuracy of consignment notes.
- Ensure all loading activities comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), load restraint and fatigue management requirements
- Coordinate rostering and workforce allocation to maintain operational coverage
- Monitor team performance and provide ongoing feedback, coaching and support
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimise efficiency and productivity
- Liaise with internal teams, drivers and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory standards
- Promote and uphold a strong safety culture, including participation in incident management and corrective actions
About You
Previous experience in a supervisory role within transport, logistics or yard operations
Strong understanding of freight handling, yard processes and operational workflows
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams
Solid organisational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence
Knowledge of fatigue management legislation, Load restraint and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations
LF Forklift Licence
