About the Role

- Ensure timely resolution of claims and demurrage expenses to secure maximum revenue
- Develop and manage the annual plan for demurrage and claims
- Lead and direct the demurrage and claims process and reporting system
- Formulate operating procedures, systems and programmes to meet annual plans and targets
- Review voyage terms and conditions to avoid detrimental terms
- Review claims for demurrage and unsettled claims, recommend legal action
- Lead demurrage and claims negotiations with third parties
- Monitor escalated or critical claims and ensure high level attention
- Analyse and review statistical analysis of demurrage and claims and issue periodic reports
- Represent the Company to clients and create solid, cooperative relationships

Job Purpose
- Ensure timely resolution of claims and demurrage expenses to secure maximum revenue.
- Develop and manage the annual plan for demurrage and claims.
- Lead and direct the demurrage and claims process and reporting system.
- Formulate the operating procedures, systems and programmes to meet annual plans and targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide input to the annual plan of the BU and strategy of the BU related to the own unit.
- Assign tasks and oversee performance to ensure achieving the objectives in the annual plan and targets of the unit.
- Develop and deploy effective demurrage and claims process and reporting system.
- Identify and make recommendations for compliance to industry legislative changes and improve efficiency.
- Maximize amount received for controlled fleet and minimize paid to vessel owner for spot vessels.
- Direct the team to set annual objectives and assign tasks; train and coach team members.
- Adopt and apply new professional strategies and policies.
- Review voyage terms and conditions to avoid detrimental terms.
- Review claims for demurrage and unsettled claims, recommend legal action.
- Lead demurrage and claims negotiations with third parties.
- Monitor escalated or critical claims and ensure high level attention.
- Analyse and review statistical analysis of demurrage and claims and issue periodic reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Marine Transportation, Engineering or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 8 years Oil & Gas/tanker and shipping experience.
