The Role

We are seeking an experienced engineering people leader to lead a multidisciplinary GCC Engineering team supporting the Barry-Wehmiller Papersystems platform.

The Delivery Leader is responsible for day-to-day delivery, people leadership, capacity alignment, stakeholder communication, and team performance. This role converts platform demand into executable work, develops engineering capability, and creates an environment where teams can consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.

Team Scope

You will lead a large multidisciplinary engineering team consisting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering professionals working in partnership with Technical Leads and global Papersystems stakeholders.

Role Scope

The Delivery Leader is accountable for:

People leadership and team development

First-level issue escalation and risk management

Technical Leads in the team remain accountable for detailed technical direction, engineering methodologies, and design decisions.

The Delivery Leader's role is to bring together people, priorities, capacity, and stakeholder expectations to ensure predictable and sustainable execution.

What You Will Own

Delivery Excellence

Translate business priorities and stakeholder demand into executable plans aligned with team capacity and capability.

Ensure projects are delivered with quality, efficiency, and predictability.

Monitor delivery health, identify risks early, and drive timely resolution.

Establish clear operating rhythms, dashboards, metrics, and governance mechanisms.

Maintain transparency through proactive communication with stakeholders and leadership.

Create accountability across the team while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Build Capability and Develop People

Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical, professional, and leadership capabilities.

Partner with Technical Leads to identify capability gaps and strengthen skill depth across engineering disciplines.

Support the development of Subject Matter Experts in priority technical domains.

Lead goal setting, performance management, career development planning, and feedback processes.

Create an engaging environment that enables learning, growth, and professional fulfillment.

Build a healthy pipeline of future technical and people leaders.

Lead Team Effectiveness

Align talent to business priorities and resource needs.

Monitor workload distribution and team capacity to ensure sustainable performance.

Remove organizational barriers that impact productivity and delivery.

Drive collaboration between Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering teams.

Foster teamwork, accountability, and cross-functional partnership.

Stakeholder Partnership

Build trusted relationships with global platform leaders and project stakeholders.

Align expectations, priorities, timelines, and delivery commitments.

Anticipate future demand and support workforce planning discussions.

Communicate effectively across functions, cultures, and geographies.

Drive Operational Discipline

Reinforce engineering standards, delivery discipline, and quality expectations.

Promote continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency and predictability.

Use data and metrics to guide decision making and monitor performance.

Balance stakeholder needs with sustainable team operations and long-term capability building.

What You Bring

Leadership Experience

Proven experience leading medium to large engineering teams in a people leadership capacity.

Demonstrated success managing performance, coaching individuals, and developing future leaders.

Strong experience leading hiring, talent assessment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.

Ability to influence both individual contributors and technical leaders without relying solely on positional authority.

Delivery & Business Leadership

Experience driving engineering delivery in a global or matrixed environment.

Strong project, program, or delivery management experience.

Proven ability to create visibility through metrics, dashboards, and delivery governance frameworks.

Experience balancing multiple stakeholder priorities while maintaining team well-being and delivery quality.

Technical Foundation

Background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Industrial Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Broad engineering understanding to guide execution and effectively partner with Technical Leads.

Ability to understand cross-functional engineering workflows and identify risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.

Global Collaboration

Experience working with geographically distributed teams and international stakeholders.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, and organizational complexity while maintaining alignment and momentum.

Preferred Experience

Experience leading teams of approximately 25-40+ engineers.

Experience working within GCCs, captive centers, engineering services organizations, OEMs, or manufacturing technology companies.

Exposure to Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering environments.

Experience building capability development programs, technical talent pipelines, or SME frameworks.

Experience supporting performance, compensation, and career development processes.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

Master's degree preferred.

Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering experience, including significant people leadership responsibility.

Travel

Up to 10% based on business requirements.
