Role Overview
Manage an assigned portfolio of overdue accounts, recover outstanding debts, and achieve collection targets.
Maintain professional and respectful relationships with clients and debtors while applying a firm, results-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage overdue accounts and take proactive recovery action.
- Review account records, payment history, and balances to determine collection approaches.
- Contact debtors through phone, email, written correspondence, and approved channels.
- Locate and verify updated debtor contact information when required.
- Assess financial situations and negotiate payment arrangements, settlements, or repayment plans.
- Follow up on commitments and ensure payments are received within agreed timelines.
- Handle inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and seek practical resolutions.
- Investigate discrepancies, account issues, and disputes with relevant internal teams.
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities, communications, promises to pay, and payment arrangements.
- Escalate high-risk, disputed, or non-responsive accounts to the Collection Manager.
- Identify accounts requiring legal escalation and complete required documentation and procedures.
- Provide portfolio performance updates and work with internal teams to improve recovery rates.
