Technology focus
- The Data Platform Tech Lead designs and delivers scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms supporting analytics, operational workloads, AI, and emerging use cases.
- Potential technologies include AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, SQL, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, dbt, Great Expectations, Apache Airflow, Kafka, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
- The work may include data architecture, ETL and ELT, data modelling, governance, data products, DataOps, observability, infrastructure as code, modernisation, and AI-enabled engineering.
Responsibilities
- Work according to agile practices with multiple teams and stakeholders to solve client problems and deliver internal projects.
- Steer technical teams through complex challenges and guide clients through successful digital transformations.
- Mentor engineers and create an environment of continuous improvement.
- Use in-person whiteboarding and asynchronous Microsoft Teams communication to solve problems collaboratively.
- Help teams use generative AI effectively in engineering delivery with appropriate practices, controls, and guardrails.
Requirements
- Experience designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms.
- Ability to work across cloud platforms, modern data platforms, data pipelines, governance, and platform engineering practices.
- Ability to steer technical teams through complex challenges and guide clients through digital transformation.
- Ability to mentor engineers and support continuous improvement.
- Ability to apply appropriate engineering, security, governance controls, and guardrails when using generative AI.
- Ability to work using agile practices with multiple teams and stakeholders.
