The company serves clients across the Middle East and international markets through software services, custom solutions, and technical teams.

About the Role

The Data Steward will join the Data Analytics team and help ensure bank data is understood, defined, documented, and effectively used.

The role bridges business and technical teams, working with business lines, control functions, analytics, engineering, IT, and data governance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand business processes, requirements, KPIs, and supporting data with business lines and control functions.
  • Translate business requirements into data requirements, definitions, and Critical Data Elements.
  • Maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, metadata, classifications, data lineage, and the data catalog.
  • Identify data quality issues, support data governance, and help resolve discrepancies across data sources and outputs.
  • Support onboarding of data sources, reports, analytical models, and data products with business context and requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Data Management, Data Analytics, Business Analysis, Data Governance, or a related field.
  • Experience with banking data and banking business processes.
  • Understanding of data concepts, databases, data models, and data flows.
  • Good SQL and data investigation skills.
  • Experience working with business and technology teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Core Banking data, particularly Temenos T24/Transact.
  • Experience with data catalogs and metadata platforms such as OpenMetadata or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of data lineage, classification, ownership, quality, and governance concepts.
  • Familiarity with Data Lake, Lakehouse, Spark, Trino, dbt, Power BI, or Apache Superset.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.

Proactive, collaborative mindset and strong ownership.
