Position Overview

7+ years required. This is a strategic, hands-on architect role responsible for the end-to-end design, deployment, and evolution of the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, including Data Governance Center, Catalog, Lineage, and Data Quality & Observability, across Al Tayer Group. The Collibra Architect will support the Data Governance Office, lead integration with the enterprise data ecosystem across cloud data platforms, ETL/ELT, BI, and source systems, and partner with business and IT teams to operationalize data catalog, data quality, metadata management, and stewardship at scale to enable trusted, well-governed data for business growth and innovation.

Platform Architecture & Deployment

  • **Platform Ownership:**
  • Architect and deploy the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform (cloud or on-prem DGC), including environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod), sizing, high availability, and Edge site monitoring for secure connectivity to on-prem and cloud sources.
  • **Operating Model Design:**
  • Design and configure communities, domains, the asset model (assets, characteristics, relations, hierarchies), and stewardship responsibilities aligned to the enterprise data taxonomy and governance framework.
  • **Security & Access:**
  • Monitor platform security and identity, including SSO/SAML, SCIM-based provisioning, resource roles, global roles, and granular permissions, in line with Group IT standards.

Catalog, Lineage & Metadata Integration

  • **Metadata Ingestion:**
  • Design and operationalize metadata ingestion through Collibra Edge connectors and the Catalog for sources such as AWS Data Lake/Redshift, Databricks, Azure Synapse/Fabric, Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Salesforce suite (SFMC, SFCC, SFSC), SAP and S/4 HANA, ERP, and Power BI, including scheduling, reconciliation, and schema-drift handling.
  • **Lineage Engineering:**
  • Implement automated technical lineage via the Lineage Harvester and Edge lineage capability, and stitch business, logical, and physical lineage end-to-end across the data estate.
  • **Onboarding Playbooks:**
  • Define repeatable patterns for onboarding new data sources, data products, and BI assets, with clear ownership, certification, and quality gates.

Data Quality & Observability (Collibra Dq)

  • **DQ Architecture:**
  • Architect and deploy Collibra Data Quality & Observability, including the Spark-based engine, agents, JDBC connectivity, and pushdown to cloud data warehouses where supported, with appropriate sizing and security hardening.
  • **Rule Framework:**
  • Design a layered data quality rule framework spanning profiling, AutoDQ/ML anomaly detection, business rules, SQL/Scala rules, and observability signals (freshness, volume, schema, drift), with severity, scoring, and SLA definitions.
  • **Catalog Integration:**
  • Surface DQ findings, scores, and Data Quality Stories on Collibra Catalog assets, and integrate alerting with BMC Helix/ServiceNow and Microsoft Teams to drive timely remediation.

Workflows, APIs & Automation

  • **Workflow Engineering:**
  • Design and develop Collibra workflows on the Flowable/BPMN engine for stewardship, request and approval, certification, issue management, and onboarding using the Workflow SDK (Groovy).
  • **API Integration:**
  • Build and maintain integrations using Collibra REST APIs, GraphQL, and Webhooks, including bidirectional integration with cataloging, ticketing, and IAM tools.
  • **Customization & DevOps:**
  • Implement DGC customizations (views, diagrams, dashboards, asset pages, validation rules) and establish CI/CD practices for Collibra artifacts (workflows, asset model, configuration).

Governance Enablement & Operations

  • **Stewardship Enablement:**
  • Support the Data Governance Office and partner with stewards, custodians, and owners to operationalize policies, standards, business glossary, reference data, and KPIs inside Collibra, and drive adoption across business domains.
  • **Platform Operations:**
  • Own platform reliability, including monitoring, backups, capacity planning, performance tuning, upgrade strategy (cloud release cycle or on-prem patching), and vendor management with Collibra support.
  • **Documentation & Mentoring:**
  • Maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and design standards; mentor administrators, stewards, and developers; and report platform health, DQ coverage, and adoption metrics to leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline (required).
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or enterprise data architecture, including 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Collibra platform.
  • Proven end-to-end delivery of at least one enterprise Collibra implementation covering Catalog, DGC, and Data Quality.
  • Hands-on experience with Collibra Edge, Lineage Harvester, Workflow Designer, and the Collibra DQ Job Editor.
  • Collibra Ranger, Expert, or Data Quality certification (preferred).
  • Cloud data platform certifications (Databricks, Azure, Snowflake) are a plus.
