The Data Governance Controls Analyst executes day-to-day data governance build, configuration, analysis, and maintenance.
The role administers governance tooling, monitors data quality, maintains automation, and supports audit-ready control evidence.
The role works from defined standards and escalates judgment calls rather than owning policy.
Key responsibilities
- Administer the Microsoft Purview data catalog and business glossary, including terms, domains, entries, metadata, lineage, and versioning.
- Build, run, and maintain data quality scorecards and validate data using SQL.
- Monitor data quality metrics, investigate threshold breaches, and route issues to data owners.
- Develop and maintain Purview automation, API integrations, and workflow automations such as Power Automate.
- Prepare data and materials for stakeholder reviews and leadership reporting.
