Role Overview
Data Engineering Lead role at a digital-first, AI-enabled financial services organisation being built in the UAE.
The role will establish the trusted data foundation for analytics, AI, regulatory reporting, and business decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead the bank's cloud data platform, lakehouse architecture, and data pipelines.
- Deliver batch, streaming, and CDC ingestion from core banking, payments, treasury, and enterprise systems.
- Build AI data pipelines covering feature engineering, vector pipelines, retrieval datasets, and training data production.
- Establish DataOps, CI/CD, testing, observability, and AI-assisted development standards.
- Implement data quality, governance, lineage, and metadata controls.
- Lead and mentor the data engineering team and manage platform consumption and FinOps activities.
- Collaborate with Data Architecture, AI Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and Technology teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of data engineering experience, including leadership responsibility and team management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Azure, AWS, or equivalent lakehouse technologies.
- Experience with streaming, CDC, and enterprise-scale production data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of DataOps, CI/CD, automated testing, data quality, and observability.
