Role overview

The role focuses on designing and building Azure data solutions, delivering reliable pipelines, and supporting deployment activities for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an expert in Azure Data Platform services including Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Event Hub, and Blob Storage.
  • Design and build scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and curation or normalization.
  • Implement data quality checks, error handling, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Apply data modelling and data warehouse concepts to optimize architecture.
  • Troubleshoot development and testing issues and support smooth deployment of data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Support pre-sales activities and RFP responses with technical input when required.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and team best practices.

Required experience and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Event Hub, and Blob Storage.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python with a strong understanding of ETL and ELT processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI.
  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks and error-handling techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred certifications

  • Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, and Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate.
  • Professional engineering licensure is not required because the role is not classified as formal professional engineering work.
