PwC's data and analytics engineering team designs and develops data solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights.
The role focuses on designing and building Azure data solutions, delivering reliable pipelines, and supporting deployment activities for clients.
Responsibilities
- Act as an expert in Azure Data Platform services including Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Event Hub, and Blob Storage.
- Design and build scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and curation or normalization.
- Implement data quality checks, error handling, and monitoring frameworks.
- Apply data modelling and data warehouse concepts to optimize architecture.
- Troubleshoot development and testing issues and support smooth deployment of data pipelines.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Support pre-sales activities and RFP responses with technical input when required.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and team best practices.
Required experience and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Event Hub, and Blob Storage.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python with a strong understanding of ETL and ELT processes.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI.
- Knowledge of data quality frameworks and error-handling techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred certifications
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, and Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate.
- Professional engineering licensure is not required because the role is not classified as formal professional engineering work.

- PwC Canada describes the work environment as hybrid, with exact team expectations to be discussed during the interview.
Compensation
- The stated salary range is $84,700 to $134,700, with ranges varying by location and base salary determined by skills, experience, qualifications, and work location.
- Eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs and receive a comprehensive total rewards package.
