Purpose of the Role

Support operational efficiency improvement, data analytics, regional performance, and strategic decision-making within the Abu Dhabi Regional Operations team.

Work with autonomy to manage priorities and deliver analyses and recommendations to senior management.

Operational Excellence

  • Map, analyse, and benchmark processes across line operations, port operations, and feeder network management.
  • Identify bottlenecks and standardisation gaps and implement improvements for workflows, schedule reliability, vessel turnaround, port stays, berth utilisation, and agent performance.

Performance Management

  • Build and maintain operational KPI frameworks, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Produce monthly efficiency reports highlighting performance trends, root causes, corrective actions, and priority improvement areas.

Fleet and Network Planning

  • Support vessel allocation, fleet utilisation, and capacity planning across feeder and intra-regional services.
  • Monitor port stays, slot-fill ratios, idle capacity, and deviations from plan.
  • Develop scenarios for vessel additions, redeployments, and service changes.

Competitive Intelligence

  • Maintain intelligence on competitor services, frequencies, vessel deployments, port rotations, capacity changes, and new launches across key MEA corridors.
  • Use Alphaliner, LINERLYTICA, MDS Transmodal, and AIS tools to provide market insights.

OPEX and CIP Monitoring

  • Maintain live cost and CIP dashboards and produce weekly budget variance reports.
  • Conduct port-cost benchmarking and develop scenarios for rotation optimisation, port-call frequency, budgeting, and cost forecasting.

Regional Development

  • Support new corridors, trade-lane expansion, and regional business opportunities.
  • Develop business cases for new services, port calls, network extensions, and land-bridge solutions using volume, revenue, cost, transit-time, infrastructure, and regulatory analysis.

Skills and Competencies

  • Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Data Science, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced Excel and proficiency in Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of process-improvement methodologies and maritime intelligence platforms is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, autonomy, organisation, communication, and adaptability skills.
  • Genuine interest in the maritime industry and MEA region.
